Welcome to the dark and mysterious land of Lemuria, where the sun, moon and stars have all been taken by the Black Queen. You play a young, turn of the century Austrian girl, Aurora, who’s mission is to restore light to this wonderous world.
Child of Light is a side-scrolling, platforming, turn-based RPG, heavily influenced by games like Final Fantasy VIII and LIMBO. Visually the entire game resembles that of a finely painted water-colored children’s book. It also features an optional co-op multiplayer feature very similar to that of the Super Mario Galaxy series. Every line of dialogue is written in rhyme, which, without a limber tongue, can give the player a very hard time 😉
The game was developed by Ubisoft Montreal, who’s prime creativity comes from the same folks who worked on Far Cry 3. It runs on the UbiArt framework, the same in-house powering the newer Rayman Origins and Legends.
As an FYI: It does require that you install and use Ubisoft’s Uplay DRM software in addition to Steam =/
